I am delighted to confirm there will be four new key roles within Napa United for 2020 onwards. We have seen incredible growth over the last 18-24 months & it has become clear we need to structure our soccer operations properly to manage this growth accordingly.

Our Board of Directors have traditionally run all of our soccer programs. They operate on a voluntary & non paid basis so we feel these new roles will compliment the work they are doing.

The Board of Directors have undertaken a tremendous amount of work over the years to establish Napa United & without this group of people we would not be in a position to continue expanding & developing our programs.

Napa United is positive the four new roles will have a huge impact on our soccer community & I would like to detail the work these people will be doing.

Director of Business Operations: Phil Montalbano
Phil has been working for Napa United for more than 18 months on a consultancy basis. During this time he has been instrumental in driving forward the operational & business side of our academy program.

Within his new role Phil will continue to manage our TeamSnap operations across academy, club & rec. TeamSnap has been a huge success for our programs & we will be looking to build upon this in 2020.

Napa United continues to be one of the largest soccer programs in our region & we believe it is vital our operations & business interests have an individual who can focus their efforts in managing this area of our organization.

Director of Rec & Community Projects: Tom Shutt
Coach Tom is one of the most popular faces of Napa United & we are delighted to be announcing him as our Director of Recreational & Community Soccer Projects. This is an expansion of Tom’s current role. One of Tom's key focuses will be developing a year-round soccer experience for players of all ages & ability levels.

Our Rec program has been a huge success for many years & we believe Tom will add a new energy & drive in this important area of player development.

Tom will also be looking to grow our school programs & community soccer projects which have become a hugely popular experience for our school partners & families.

Head of Girls Development: Mark Corbett
The Head of Girls Development will be responsible for oversight of all areas within the girls' soccer program for Napa United. This includes our club & academy programs.

Mark will report directly to Gavin Taylor & work under the current coaching, playing & development philosophies that have been in place since we launched the Academy in February 2018.

Mark will work with all academy boys & girls teams, he will be head coach for one of our girls' academy teams from Spring onwards. Mark is a UEFA A licensed coach with superb experience in player development & will bring great knowledge to our players. Mark will combine his work with Napa United as the Head Coach for the Napa Valley 1839 Senior team.

We are extremely excited to have such an experienced individual working within our academy & club who will also be driving the girls program for Napa United!

Head of Boys Development: Brian Arcila
The Head of Boys' Development will be responsible for oversight of all areas within the boys' soccer program for Napa United. This includes our club & academy programs.

Brian will report directly to Gavin Taylor & work under the current coaching, playing & development philosophies that have been in place since we launched the Academy in February 2018.

Brian has been a long-standing member of the Napa United family as a player & now as a senior member of our coaching team. Brian will continue his work with the Academy teams whilst also managing his new role.

Both of the above roles have been created to bring our club & academy programs closer together. The roles will also ensure the management, strategy & approach to player development across our boys & girls program is consistent & focused for all ages, abilities & genders.

In closing the above commitment to our soccer operations department shows an unwavering commitment from Napa United.

Coach Mark will be on field in the very near future, the work these individuals will be doing has already started & we hope you can say Hi to them next time you see them.

Best regards,

Gavin Taylor
