Hello Napa United Members, my name is Karl Frisinger, and I write to inform you about three substantial changes at Napa United: 1) a change of the club’s president; 2) a three-year extension of Gavin Taylor’s contract, and 3) support for families during this trying time.

PRESIDENT

I write to inform you that I have the honor, privilege, and responsibility of being the President of Napa United. Jarrett Anderson, the previous president, resigned from his position on the evening of Thursday April 23, 2020. Jarrett is retiring from the Napa City Fire Department and moving to South Carolina at the end of this month. Jarrett was an outstanding leader for our organization. He helped grow our league to new heights, ushered in the major change of the Napa United Academy program, and secured a much needed and larger office space for our growing club. On behalf of the entire organization please join me in a monumental and loud “thank you” to Jarrett for his service to our community, on and off the field.

While president, I have lofty goals that I seek to accomplish: 1) Help steer Napa United out of the current COVID situation and in a position to emerge just as strong as we entered, 2) Develop a College Pathway program with our coaches to assist players in gaining college soccer scholarships, 3) Develop a Pro-Soccer Pathway for our players, 4) secure designated soccer fields, 5) maintain our strong recreational soccer platform while coaching proper fundamentals, and 6) Increase the strength and skill of our club teams. Goals 5 and 6 depend mostly on outstanding volunteers, but we aim to provide them the resources, guidance, and structure to fulfill the goals.

GAVIN TAYLOR SIGNS A THREE-YEAR EXTENSION

It is with pleasure and excitement to inform our membership that Gavin Taylor has signed an agreement to remain as Head of Soccer Operations for Napa United for an additional three years. There is no question that the popularity, success, and growth of Napa United is due in large part to the skill, drive, determination, and commitment of Gavin on and off the field. While the above goals are lofty, I have no doubt that we can achieve them with Gavin’s leadership.

SUPPORT FOR OUR NAPA UNITED FAMILY AND HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Before addressing our support efforts, I need to mention and send a heart-felt thank you to Arik Housley for the support he offers Napa United. Arik was the key architect in designing the Napa United Academy program.  In addition, he volunteers countless hours of his time as board member of Napa United as Vice President of Coach and Player Development. Arik also sponsors Napa United through his businesses, Ranch Market and Napa Valley 1839 FC. It is because of Arik and other Napa United members, like Arik, that make this club special.

United from Home Program and Training Videos

We encourage our members to stay engaged with the United from Home Program and Napa United training videos on our YouTube channel. The United from Home Programs will be recorded and posted to our YouTube channel for all members to access. These programs will keep your child active and give them time to interact with their teammates and coaches.

     Giving Table

Napa United is in the process of developing a giving table. The giving table will be outside of the Napa United office on select days. We will have a donation period during that day for anyone to donate newly purchased food items and household supplies.  Later that day we will have a time for families to come by the giving table and select needed items. The details of this program will follow shortly in a separate communication.

Chat with a Coach

Members of our senior coaching team are here for our members. With the assistance of a parent or guardian, a player may reach out to schedule a time to chat with a coach. The chat can be soccer based or a casual conversation just as they would have at practice. We hope that this will bring a semblance of normalcy in the new daily routine of our children.

“WE ARE NAPA WE ARE UNITED”

“We are Napa and we are United” has become our unofficial slogan over the past few years. Our community has faced many tragedies over the past few years. Despite these tragedies, however, each time we have emerged stronger and with more dedication, love, and unity for soccer and each other. I have no doubt that we will rise from the current situation stronger and with more dedication, love, and unity.

I look forward to serving our members and our community. If you have any questions please feel to reach out to me by email at karl@napaunited.org
