Take the Referee Course Entirely Online!  Includes online field session!

Greetings Future U.S. Soccer Referees,

I hope this email finds you well.  I have some interesting news for those of you who have considered earning your 2020 certification as a U.S. Soccer Grassroots Referee.

Right now, U.S. Soccer has given CNRA permission to conduct ONLINE FIELD SESSIONS.  That's right.  You can do the entire certification course online right NOW!

It's a great benefit to be able to do the entire course from the comfort of your own home.  There is no juggling of your schedule other than being prepared well in advance of the Thursday night webinars.  Links to the webinars will be found in the course descriptions on the U.S. Soccer Digital Learning Center.

Adults (18 years and older) must complete an online background check before starting the course.  This takes about a week for most people.

Once you have completed the course and earned your badge, please notify me so I can get you set up on our assigning platform.

See below for the actual email from Samantha Moos, Entry Level Coordinator for CNRA.  Act now and seize the day!

=====

Hello all,

I hope you are doing well.  We have been approved to do the field session portion of the Grassroots Course online.  This is great news and can benefit all.

This is a great opportunity to invite your friends and teammates to sign up and become a referee with you.
https://learning.ussoccer.com/#!/referee/courses/available/6/details/2045

We will be conducting the digital field session in a webinar based format that will be offered weekly on Thursdays at 7pm.  Participants must register beforehand and must complete all 4 assignments in the Learning Center BEFORE registering for the webinar.  If your assignments are not completed you will not be permitted to participate.

The field session is the last part of the Grassroots course you need to complete in order to become a referee.  Upon completion you will be registered as a referee and sent a badge.  The badge will arrive within 4-6 weeks.

Please sign up as early as possible.  Please do not procrastinate as I do not know how long we will be permitted to do our field sessions online due to the shelter-in-place recommendations.

I am sure you have many questions and I hope that I can answer them for you.

FAQ

Q: Can I attend the webinar if I do not complete my assignments?
A: No, you must complete the assignments before.

Q: Once I complete the webinar may I start refereeing right away?
A: Yes, as soon as games resume you may begin reffing.  Until then, you can attend CNRA's optional weekly clip-review webinars. Email invitations will be sent to you as soon as your registration is processed, or you can check the CNRA Facebook page for sign-up links.

Q: If I want to attend an in-person field session when they resume can I?
A: Yes, and I encourage you to do so.  If your club or a surrounding club is hosting a fied session I would highly encourage you to attend.  You must let me know and I can transfer you to that session.  This is optional and a chance for you to gain more knowledge with field training.

Q: How do I find an assignor?
A: We have a resource at CNRA.NET with “find an assignor”.
