Spring and Fall Recreation Update

Dear Spring and Fall Recreation Families,

We are hoping everyone is healthy and safe during this difficult time.

We understand this a unique time and as a club we want to use soccer as a positive target, with our ultimate goal as getting our kids back on the field and playing again!

With NVUSD school campuses closed through June 5th, we do not have access to the district’s fields, even if the shelter-at-home order is lifted prior to that date. In the meantime, we plan to have our live online sessions available to all players in the  next couple of weeks to keep our players active.

As for Spring & Fall Leagues, once the fields are open, we fully intend to follow-through with both. Please see below with specific info for each:

Napa Valley Petroleum Spring League
With information changing often, we can’t give specific dates, but our goal for Spring league would be to have mid-week practices and finish with 2-3 weekends of tournament-style games - meaning, teams will play two games per weekend instead of one.

We are looking at utilizing our older academy soccer players to coach (if needed), train, and referee games – an upside to postponement of the season.

We will provide more specifics as they become available to us, but please know, we want these kids to play soccer!

Fall Recreation League Registration
At this time, we don't have details about when the school district's fields will be open, but rest assured we are confident we will have a fall recreational season.

In the current circumstances we have options for families who are interested in playing recreational soccer.

  1. You can register now and pay the full fee ($210)
  2. You can register now and then sponsor an extra child. This donation will go towards a family who needs financial aid due to Covid-19.
  3. You can register your ‘interest to play’ and pay a $1 fee to hold your spot, then pay the remaining $209 August 1st or September 1st.

Our registration link for ‘fall’ soccer is live on our website – www.napaunited.org

Registering your interest for fall gives everybody something to look forward to and it gives Napa United staff information to help plan the season.

As we receive more information, we will definitely reach out. Please keep an eye out for an update from us towards the end of April.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out on the fields soon!

Many thanks,

Tom Shutt
Director of Rec & Community Projects
